Common Questions
- What wheel damage can you repair?
- Cosmetic damage: kerb rash, scratches, scuffs, minor gouges and tired or faded painted finishes. Anything structural — cracks, buckles, air loss or vibration — is not a cosmetic repair and needs a workshop.
- Can you repair diamond-cut or machined wheels?
- Diamond-cut wheels have a machined metal face cut on a lathe. A genuine restoration re-cuts that face on a CNC lathe in a workshop. What we do is a mobile cosmetic repair: we tidy the damaged area and refinish it to blend with the rest of the wheel. It looks far better than the damage, but it isn't a re-cut face, and we'll tell you honestly from your photos whether it's worth doing.
- How does the estimate work?
- Answer six quick questions and you'll see an indicative price range straight away. It's based on the damage level, wheel size, finish and how many wheels are involved. It's an estimate, not a final quote — we confirm the price once we've seen your photos.
- Why do you need photos?
- Photos are how we confirm the damage is cosmetic and what the finish actually is. One photo of the full wheel and one close-up of the damage is usually enough.
- What kind of work area do you need?
- A flat, private and safe space with room to work around the wheel — a driveway, garage or private parking bay. A power point nearby helps. If you're in an apartment, the Body Corporate or Owners Corporation may need to approve the work.
- Do the wheels come off the car?
- Most cosmetic repairs are carried out with the wheel on the vehicle. If a repair needs the wheel removed, we'll tell you before the appointment.
- How long does it take?
- It depends on the damage and how many wheels are involved. We give you a realistic time estimate when we confirm your quote.
- Is it cheaper to do more than one wheel?
- Yes. The per-wheel price drops as the number of wheels goes up, and the discount is already built into the estimate you see.
- Which areas do you cover?
- We're based in Caulfield South and cover Melbourne's inner south and south-east. If your suburb isn't on our list, send your postcode with your estimate and we'll confirm whether we can assist.
- Can you tidy wheels before a sale or lease return?
- That's one of the most common reasons people call. Tell us your deadline when you request your estimate and we'll tell you what's achievable.
